He did a great job on our lawn. He graded and seeded our property. Our grass came out beautifully! We also had trees planted around our property. He knows the best time of year/season to plant them in order for them to thrive. He is very trustworthy and professional. We were very happy with his work. We have recommended him to four people and all are very pleased with his work.

Found Don on a Google search. He came over quick for a very fair estimate to repair my window wells, run gutter downspouts underground and then regrade my property to stop my flooded basement issues. He was did what he said he would and showed when he said. Had a great experience and my basement is dry after recent heavy rains Oct 28 2019 Update After the last two downpours we recently had in the area that would have certainly flooded my basement.... All is dry πŸ‘. No puddling near my foundation and the gutter system Don installed works perfectly to move all the roof water far away from the house. Thx DonπŸ‘

How to Find Reliable Excavation Companies in Suffolk County

In Suffolk County, construction is booming; particularly residential construction projects. With more people staying home, people are transforming their properties so that they can enjoy them to the fullest. Perhaps you’re thinking about doing the same; maybe you’re thinking about installing a pool, you’d like to reimagine your landscape, or you want to add a new patio or deck to your outdoor space, for example. If you have a project in mind that involves digging, moving earth, or grading, you’re definitely going to want to seek out excavation companies that can assist you with preparing the site.

Excavation is a serious job that requires proper training, keen knowledge, expert insight, careful planning, and a lot of experience. In other words, you want to make sure that you find the most reliable company to do the job, but if you’ve never needed the services that excavation contractors offer, you may not know where to begin your search. Here are some simple tips that you can use to help you find and choose reputable excavation companies in Suffolk County.

Seek Referrals

The easiest and most effective way to find excavation companies is to seek referrals from the people you know. Start with your social network. If any of your family members, friends, or colleagues have ever hired a Suffolk County excavation company, ask them what type of experience they had, if they were happy with the results, and whether or not they would recommend the contractor. Word-of-mouth referrals from the people you know are more likely to be accurate than the anonymous reviews that you find online. Plus, it’s a lot easier to make arrangements to see the finished project Suffolk County excavation contractors delivered when the recommendations come from your social network.

Check the World Wide Web

It’s no secret that the Internet is a super handy tool that you can use to find out more information about any professional, including excavation service providers. If you’ve gotten a few word-of-mouth referrals from friends, family, and colleagues, head to the Internet to find out more about the recommended companies. Of course, if you don’t know anyone who has worked with excavation contractors, you can search for companies that offer these services online; just look up “excavating companies near me” or similar queries and you’re likely to get a long list of candidates.

When you visit the website of contractors that offer Suffolk County excavation services, check into their credentials. Find out how long they’ve been in business, look to see exactly what type of services they offer and experience they have. If they have customer testimonials listed on their website, take the time to read through them. In addition to visiting companies’ websites, look into review sites, such as Angie’s List and Yelp. These sites provide overviews of local excavation companies, publish reviews from real customers, and use a rate the quality of consumer’s overall experience with a contractor; for instance, on Angie’s List, an A through F rating system, similar to a student report card is used, and Yelp uses a one- to a five-star rating system, with five being the highest and 1 the lowest.

While contractor websites and online reviews are good places to acquire information about prospective contractors, verifying that information with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) is highly recommended. On the BBB site, you’ll be able to find more detailed information about any companies you’re considering, including details about licensing and insurance, as well as any complaints and even past or current legal problems.

Schedule Consultations

Once you have the names of a few excavation companies that you’re interested in, it’s time to schedule consultations. A consultation gives you a chance to interview contractors, so to speak. You’ll be able to find out more information about their background and gauge how professional they are. Of course, during a consultation, a contractor should also assess your East Hampton, NY property, ask you questions about the project you have in mind, and provide you with an overview of the process they’ll use.

During the “meet-and-greet”, pay attention to the overall impression each contractor makes. Were they on time? Did they appear knowledgeable and seem friendly? Did they accurately assess your property and clearly highlight what the excavation project will entail? Were all of your questions answered? Did they offer a detailed and clear written estimate?

Review the Details

Now it’s time to determine which excavation company you’re going to hire. Review all of the information you acquired about each company, but keep in mind that price shouldn’t be the deciding factor. While the cost of the project is certainly important, remember the old saying, “You get what you pay for”. Though it may be tempting to choose the contractor who quoted the lowest bid, if the price seems too good to be true, it probably is. Excavation needs to be done properly and you don’t want to sacrifice craftsmanship for a good price. A contractor’s credentials, experience, years in business, a track record of success, and customer service are the key factors that should guide your decision.
